Arriving at Port Said Port

Port Said grew up with the Suez Canal in the 1860s, and its waterfront still shows the balconied architecture of that era. For cruise passengers it is the classic starting point for a day in Cairo and Giza.

The road follows the canal south before turning west toward Cairo. Your day can centre on the Pyramids and the Sphinx, add the Grand Egyptian Museum, or take in the Citadel and the lanes of Khan el-Khalili.
