Overview

A gentler Luxor day that stays on the East Bank, where the sites are flatter and closer together. Karnak and Luxor Temple were once linked by an avenue of sphinxes, and seeing both tells their story as one.

Where schedules allow, the day closes with a short felucca sail before the drive back to Safaga.

Pickup and return to your ship

Pickup

Your guide meets you at Safaga Port once passengers are cleared to disembark. Exact meeting arrangements depend on the terminal and your ship, and are confirmed in writing with your itinerary.

Return planning

The felucca sail is the first thing dropped if the day runs behind. The return drive is planned at roughly 3 to 3.5 hours.

Time ashore needed: roughly 12 h 30 min between arrival and all-aboard (about 11–12 hours plus a return margin). We confirm this against your ship’s schedule before quoting.

  • Mostly level paths with some uneven paving.
  • Boarding a felucca involves a step down from the riverbank; ask us about assistance.
